Zapata's Scholarship Recipient #1

Updated: Sep 16, 2020

As promised I'm proud to announce my first of three recipients that is receiving a scholarship from me! I have awarded Kassandra $300 to help her through her journey at Notre Dame.

Here's a short "about me" on Kassandra as well as a beautiful poem she wrote along with her application.

My name is Kassandra Perez. I was born in Chicago, Illinois but currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am a senior at the University of Notre Dame where I major in Mathematics and Latino Studies. I plan on taking a gap year after graduation to continue my work in community organizing, and then go to law school. My dream is to work as an immigration lawyer for the community who has shaped me into the person I am today, considering I am the proud daughter of Mexican Immigrants. ¡Saludos a mi gente de Michoacán!

Thank you to everyone who has ordered these past few months because without your support I would not be able to do this. I'm happy that my vision is becoming reality and I am very grateful for every one of you!

To help me continue the Zapata's Scholarship purchase a bag of coffee or purchase any plant, t-shirt or bundle and I will donate $5 to maintain the scholarship fund.
